Getting To The Parade by LindaRHerzog Getting To The Parade by LindaRHerzog
I finished this a few months ago and forgot to post it.

24 x 36 Oil

While antique shopping I found this redused size replica of a bride maniquin. In Europe they would do a wedding parade through the town of a maniquin bride and groom dress up in wedding attire to represent the bride and groom. She is three feet tall and I had to have her. That night I had a dream of this painting. So there you have it.

I could not find a percheron horse in the position I wanted and with out gear. So I had to peice him together with several images that I searched out.

Linda, I think you know by now that I love each and everyone of your pieces. This one is going to my favourites just because of the creepiness that you have injected into it. There's that disbelieving quality to the whole picture, an image that is conjured from a dreamstate - one that most of us would be eager to escape from. It's so lovely, each single detail of this painting sticks out and calls to me. Wonderful!!!

Oh! I'm glad to be able to give a different view on your work. I honestly do enjoy it, perhaps because of my own propensity to the unthinkable and creepy *grins* and you have brought that forward so effectively because of your excellent technical skills. I think you should know by now how impressed I am with your gallery and every one of your works. (:

More awesome display of your skills. Your soft, beautiful backgrounds almost stand on their own. You always pick the pefect place to put some bold color, in this case the red. So rich looking. The subject is interesting but not my favorite. It has a more macabre look than your whimsical style.
