Artist's Comments

30 x 40 oil on canvas Alright, I need to figure out this site better..... As a note.... I dream 99% of my paintings in pretty much detail, color and sound. No I do not take drugs. ( A frequent jokingly asked question.) I had a vision of this nautilus alive half in the wall. The fish visiting are friends who have a reverence to the nautilus. After I started blocking in the leopard frog on top of the wall, I had an ardent desire to paint Jacques Cousteau's red hat on him making this total painting a tribute to him. I have a few of his videos and books that I have refered to quite often. To add more balance, I added a rose being held by the dart frog that came alive out of the etching in the bottom. There you have it.

I love oil paintings, they have that warm, real-life glow that I can't find in Acrylics, everytime I see oil paintings like this, I feel the need to practise painting. +fav, you're talented.

Beautiful rendition! I love your paintings where oceanic elements are mixed with more terrestrial settings. The nautilus appears to emerge from the wall! The attention to detail and overall design is stunning and realistic.

Thank you and thank you, that was nice of you to comment.

Well, your "serious" attempt to drawing Peter is very good. You should be proud. I don't know "Peter", but the technique and renderation is well done. Linda
