Not Ripe Yet by LindaRHerzog Not Ripe Yet by LindaRHerzog
I first had a vision of this with just a pear and a catarpiller and wanted to make it a larger painting. That evolved into this. The arch way is the same that I used in "Sheldon Hatching The Egg". The eggs are a chicken egg and a Whooping Crane Egg.

36 x 24 in oil

A really great piece of art and a fantastic title! It's amazing that a composition like that is so well balanced although some details are not in balance!

Just lovely and peaceful, I love the strong verticals and the egg just hanging there is great.

Hey thanks a bunch. Glad you like it. I usually do something floating. I thought to do the egg right before I finished. Glad you commented on it. - Linda

i love this !the of senter doorway draws the viwer in to this world of metamorphisis making me ask about my own maturity .
the egg seems to be levitated there .
the over all reminds me of a more optimistiv view of hope for the flowers.

Wow, glad you were able to get moved on that. Glad you like it. I painted that same archway in Sheldon Hatching the egg. Kind of like it and will probably paint it again. Thank you for the nice comment on the gallery show. That was nice. - Linda

Wow. A lot of symbolism there, yea? Beautiful, Linda. I like the rather demure palette.

Is the fruit table slightly tilted? I get the impression that the caterpillar is inadvertently pushing it to one side, or maybe its because his body makes the base look offset... definitely not a criticism though, it makes the painting really interesting to look at! Will he make it to the top? or will the whole thing fall on the egg??

This is why I love your paintings, hehe.

Somehow this one resembles me on an abstract version of Hermann Hesse's "Demian".

Wonderful composition and detail!
