Gosh, All the comments are so nice. Thank you very much. I can't get to everyone right away. I will try.
I just sold that painting last week at the gallery.
Some of you have noticed or questioned the big knocker. After I had the visual dream of how to do this painting, I recieved in the mail my National Geographic Magazine. On the cover was a beautiful Chineese child standing in front of these huge red doors with two of these knockers. I knew I had to paint that behind Spot.
30 x 24 Oil - I was walking by my front window and saw a Great BLue Heron fly up from my pond. I ran out the door to see it fly. He amazed me with his long wing span and his grace. He landed on my neighbors roof. Suddenly I realized he had my new 10 inch fancy goldfish I named Spot in his beek and proceeded to swallow it. I was so bummed. That is the story of this painting.
